THE NEW ZEALAND EXHIBITION.

MEETING OF DIRECTORS,

A meeting of the directors of the New Zealand Exhibition 1889-90- was held yesterday afternoon. It was reported that £10,463 worth of shares had beea taken up. Amongst the new subscribers are New Zealand Insurance Company, £50; T. Meek (Oamarn), £25; M. Sinclair's employes, £10; C. Ziele, £10; A. J. Barth, J. Sparrow, L. O. Beal, jun., and F. M'Grath, £5; Chinese residents—Kwoug Siug Wong, Kip Feng Tie, Sew Hoy, and KumYoou Lee,£2o each; Wong Hong, Tong You, £5 each; Toue Duck, Chine Sing, and Kwan Lea, £3 each; Duck Lee, Sew Yee, Wing Lee, Wah Kce, and Mcc Wah, £2; and Tong You, Num Lee, and Yce Yick Kei, single shares each. The following additional appointments were made to the sub-committees: — Building and Gardens—Messrs J. R. Sinclair and A. Thomson; Early History, Maori, and South Seas—Messrs W. H. Churton and H. Williams; Workmen's Court —Messrs W. Lees and D, Pinkerton (delegates from the Operative Bootmakers' Union); Ceremonial, &c—-Mr V. Pyke, M.H.R.; Pastoral and Agricultural—Mr A. C. Kimbell. Mr R. Hay's report (printed elsewhere) upon the available sites was received. It was unanimously resolved—" That the best thanks of the directors be conveyed to Mr Hay for the generous services he has rendered free of charge."
