HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.
An adjourned meeting of the Hospital Trustees was held on Wednesday. Present: Messrs H. Hougbion (chairman), Hislop, Green, Fagan, White, Robin, and Isaac. LIIXG-IN WARD. The House Committee reported, for the information of the trustees, that the lying-in ward is now empty, and undergoing a process of fumigation and cleansing, and that it will be ready for the reception of children by the end of present week. Mr White moved—" That effect be given to the resolution already passed that the children be removed from the hospital into this ward as quickly as possible." Mr Robin would second it on condition that provision should be made for very deserving cases of lying-in. Mr Green complained that he had been endeavouring to obtain information about this matter, but had failed. The Chairman stated that two cases had been provided for outside the hospital. Mr Geeen moved as an amendment—" That the further consideration of this question be deferred till proper provision has been made, either by this board or the Charitable Aid Board, in providing a lying-in ward." Mr Faoak seconded tho amendment. The motion was carried. TEE OPEEATINQ HOOK. The question of the proposed erection of an operating room was discussed at some length. Mr N. Y. A. Wales, architect, was present.
Mr White proposed—"That the plan be carried out in its entirety, and the lowest tender accepted."
Mr Robin moved—" That the matter stand over for a week, in order that we may consider it and investigate about the funds."
Mr Gheen moved—"That the plan be forwarded to the Hospital Board for its approval, with a strong recommendation that provision be made for the requisite funds to enable the trustees to erect the building in accordance therewith."
Finally, on the motion of Mr Robin, seconded by Mr White, the following motion was substituted for those previously proposed, and passed:—"That a sub-committee, consisting of Messrs NVhite, Hislop, Robin, and the chairman, report this day fortnight as to the funds available for building."
