The steamer Koranui, Captain Oliver, from Greymouth, via Oamaru and intermediate ports, arrived at Port Chalmers at 6 am. yesterday. After discharging 128 bales of wool at the expert pier she Eteamed up to Dnnedin. She left Greymouth at 8 p m of the 29th ulf.., reached Nelson at 5.40 p.m. of the 30th, aud sailed again at 7 p.m. for Wellington, arriving at that port at 6 a.m. of the 3lst; left again at noon, and arrived at Lyttelton at 7.30 a.m. or. the Ist inst., discharged 100 tons of cargo and took on board 1000 saoks of grain, and left for Oamaru at 7 p m of the same day, arrived at that port at noon of the 2nd iust-.. discharged 300 tons of ca-go,_ and sailed again for headquarters at miduight, arriving as above. She experienced fine weather throughout the trip. AV'e thaok Mr G. P. Morris (purser) for The steamer Beautiful Star having been cleaned, scraped, repainted, and a^ncvr propeller shipped, will bu hauled out of the graving dock early this morning, and proceed to Dunedin to take in cargo, and sails this evening for her usual trip to Oamnru. The steamer Te Anau left tho George street pier yesterday afternoon for Melbourne, via the Bluff and Hobart. The steamer Herald sailed yesterday evening fot Greymouth, via Oamaru and intermediate ports. The steamer Kakanui sailed yesterday evening for Catlin's river, Fortro.e, and Walkawa. The Union S.S. Company's steamer Mahinapua, Captain Holmes, from the West Coast, arrived at the liattray Etreet wharf at 530 a.m. yesterday. She left Westport at 8 p.m. of October 2S, had fine weather, aud arrived at Nelson at 230 pm. of the 29th; left again on the same day at 5.30 p.m., and reached Wellington at 5 30 a m of the 30th ult. -, left again for the South at 9am same day, had light winds,with fine weather, and arrived at Lyttelton at 6.30 a.m. of the 31st; pushed on again tit 5 p.m. of Novembsr 1, and after calling at Akaroa, reached Timaru at 10.30 a m. of the 2nd inst.; leit that port at 540 p.m. same day, and arrived at headquarters as above. We thank Mr 3J. 11. Laraen (the purser) for report, &c. The steamers Herald, Kakanui, Mahinapua, and Koranui were loading and discharging at Dunedin ■yesterday. After a long lay-up at Port Chalmers, the Otago Whaling Company's barquo Othello is to go into active service again, bhe has lately changed hands, and has been purchased by Mr Waterstone.of bluff Harbour, who intends'putting her into the intercolonial trade. She will be got ready for sea without los 3of time, and goes round to the BluS In about a week's time.
The auxiliary Bcrew cutter Clyde steamed down to Port Chalmers yesterday evening, and anchored in Mansford Bay. Tiie R.M.S. Rimutaka hsß taken in 4G20 carcasses The steamer Hauroto, from Sydney, via the North, was expected to reach Port Chalmers at midnight. She left Oamaru at 6 p.m. yesterday.
