TE KOOTI'S PROPOSED VISIT TO POVERTY BAY.

(Pbb United Pubss Association.)

Gisbobne, November 3.

A messenger from Te Kooti arrived at Gisborne to-day. He states that Te Kooti is anxious to visit Poverty Bay, but will not come if the Government object. He also says he is afraid of a disturbance, but would run away. Matui, Te Kooti's preacher, will visit here at the opening of the house built for Te Kooti's reception, and will probably be accompanied by 500 Waikatcs and other Natives.

Tho Herald to-night states that tho report wired of Major Porter's speech is perfectly correct.
