HAND AND HEART LODGE.
The adjourned summoned meeting of tho Loyal Hand aii-i Heart Lodge, Manchester Unity, was held nt the hall, Stuart street, last evening. All the officers were present in their places. The balance sheet, statement of accounts for the half-year, and auditors' report were submitted and adopted subject to a slightalteration respecting the appropriation of interest. The statement of accounts shows the total value of lodge funds to be £U1,.|97 7s lid, apportioned ns follows i-Sick and funeral fund, £11,292 19s lOd: incidental fund, £1603 18a 7d ; widows' relief fund £510 9s lid. The total receipts for the last half-year amounted to £737 15a lOd and the expenditure to £60:1 8s lid, thus giving an increase of £194 6s lid. The auditors remark: " This increase of capital does not compare very favourably with that of former sittings, mainly owing to the heavy item of sick pay and some special expenses during the sitting. The sick pay for the term amounted to £200 8s 8d ; this being the largest sum the lodge lias yet paid for sick pay in a sitting, being an average of 10s ad per member." Tho hall property now stands in the books at a value of £3000, at which value tile auditors recommend the property should at present remain. The number of members stands at 381. It is believed that the large reduction made In the amount payable on entrance (the entrance money having been reduced one-half) will induce a large accession to the membership of the lodge. The members of the Loyal Albion Lodge paid an official visit to the lodge. Noble Grand Smith, of the Albion, responded on behalf of the visiting officers nnd brethren to the usual complimentary proposition. Four new memb:is were initiated and three more proposed.
