Macgregor appeared for the plaintiff, and the defendant conducted his own case, with considerable ability.—Mr Macgregor stated that Mr Bailey was a.chemist residing in Invercargill, and the claim was one for medicines supplied to his wife, who lived in Dunedin, and had been separated from her husband for over six years. Plaintiff covenanted

to pay Mrs Bailey 30s per week, and he had not kept the covenant. Mrs Bailey was left destitute, aud for these goods Mr Bailey was liable.— Air Bailey denied his liability, and the plaintiff having given evidence, the case was adjourned until to-morrow.
