PRICE TWOBHILLINGS ' *v The Undersigned is now taking orders for the large medallion portrait of HER MAJESTY THB QUBEN, framed copies of which are on view In the windows of Messrs O. Bkgg and Co., Princes street, and Pbictor's News Agency, North-East Valley.' The very low price at which this handsome portrait Is Issued should secure for it a very extensive sale throughout the Colonies. Copies will be delivered to subscribers prior to the Jubilee celebrations in June next. The Sole Right to dispose of this Picture In New Zealand has been secured by Mr Prictor, bo that Copies will not be procurable elsewhere. The lowing notice of the picture appeared in a recent issue of the Otago Daily Times:—"One of the most appropriate pictures that could be designed , to commemorate the jubilee year of the reign is to be seen in the window of Messrs 0. Begg and Co.'s premises, Princes street. It is a large medallion portrait of her Majesty, perfect as regards resemblance, and characterised by a finish and smoothness of tone that render it one of the best specimens of coloured lithography we have seen here. The portrait occupies the centre of the canvas, but the design also includes a quartett of smaller piotures, one In each corner, representative of the four most momentous events of the reign. The views in the two upper corners depict her Majesty's coronation at Westminster on 28th June 1838 and her marriage on 10th February 1840. Below is a view of themaueoleum at Frogmore containing the remains of Prince Albert and bearing the date of his death, 14th December 1861; and to the right of this is the fourth picture of tho series, showing the reading of the proclamation declaring her Majesty Empress of India on 7th January 1877. This ceremony, it will be seen, was performed in the presence of Lord Lytton, the then viceroy, with far more pomp than marked the very formal proceedings on the steps of the Royal Exchange, London. Besides t hesehistorical pictures, there are in the margin the arms of the three kingdoms and the emblematical rose, shamrock, and thistle, and the whole is surrounded by a very pretty border, quiet and tasteful in design and colour like the rest of the work. The central portrait is executed on a chocolate ground, which shows up the brighter colours very effectively. The Queen Is in state dress—or rather the semi-state costume in which she has been accustomed to appear on important public occasions Bince her widowhood. She wears a veil and diadem and the blue ribbon and Order of the Garter. The picture cannot fail to attract attention, both on account of its subject and the excellent work of the artist and lithographer." fig" Orders now.being received by' W. J.'.PBICTOB. News Agent, Nohth-Bast Valley, and by his travelling agent, H. C. Boydell, who will visit the various suburbs. Country orders, accompanied by postal note or Btamps to the value of 2s 6d, will be duly executed on the arrival of the_Pictures, about May next, - — 30d -j-AUGER FILS' CHAMPAGNE. SOLE IMPORTERS : A.
