Deunkesness. —One person was fined for this offence.
Vagrancy.—Annie Carrington was charged with having insufficient lawful means of support.—Mr E. Cook appeared for the accused, who was sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment. Obscene Language.—Robert Gowie was sent to gaol for seven days for making use of obscene language on the Main South road at Burnside.
Bye-law . Cases.—Alexander Fleming and James Meston, who were charged with allowing cattle to stray at Roslyn, were discharged with a caution.—Two informations charging James Herbert with keeping unregistered dcgß at North-East Valley were dismissed, the accused having promised to destroy the dogs as he was unable to pay for their registration.
