Auokland, 20th February, 1888. We, John and Elizabeth Porter, of 77, Durham street, Auckland, herewith state that our child Gertrude Beatrice, aged about five and a-half years, has been suffering for somn months from spinal disease. She has had the attendance of several doctors, and we were obliged at last to taice her to the Auckland Hospital. She was there some five we«ks, and was gradually dying, being unable to walk, eat, or sleep, when we saw Dr Speer's advertisement, and as a last resource took her t»> him. She was at that time enve-! loped:" a plasterof Paris jacket. We are now thankful to say that enu has nearly recovered; 6he can almost walk alone, sleepß weil, and eats three hearty meals each day. We make this statement entirely unsolicited by Dr Speer, out of sheer gratitude to him, and as a small return for all the time, attention, and medicine which he has given gratuitously on learning our circumstances, and alao to call the attention of the public to what we cannot but consider a romarkable cure.
