DitTOKENN£M.--Fbur offenders wore dealt with for this offence. One of the accused, Tho*. Clark, was also charged with illegally carrying a sheath knife, but as he was unaware of tho existence of a bye-law on the subject he waft dismissed with a caution.

Labcehv,—Wm. Heenan was charged with having on the 18th ult., at North Taisri, stolen a saddle valued at £6, the property of Allan Boyd.—Mr Allan Holmes appeared for the aecusjd, who was remanded for a week, bail being .allowed in his own recognisance of £50 and two sureties of £25 each.

CattleTbkspass.—Thomas Turner, for allowing a horse to wander on the railway line at Rothesay, was fined 10s and costs.—Evidence was given to the effect that defendant had turned his horse on to the line.—Mr Chisholm pointed out that ihe offence was a very serious one, and were it not for the fact that defendant was a poor man a heavier penalty would havo been inflicted. A Bte-law Offence.—Jonn Fleming w» charged with having placed a quantity of rotten potatoes on a vacant section in Princes street, contrary to the city bye-laWs.—A fine of 5s imd costs was imposed.
