Auckland, August 21,

At an open-air meeting of the unemployed this morning a speaker named Wright made a violent attack on Government for their "cold-blooded and white-livered " action with' regard to the existing distress. Mr Dargaville then addressed the meeting, which was very lively and lasted till' nearly 11 o'clock. Ultimately a resolution was passed confirming the vote of censure passed by the unemployed upon him.

Deceased's life was insured in the Government office for £1000, and in the letter Johnston mistakenly assumes the insurance would not be paid in the event of suicide.
