POST OFFICE NOTICE.

Mails olose at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin (•nbject to any necessary alterations), as under:— For northern Ports of New Zealand, overland, daily, at 6.45 a.m. Late letters, mail van, North express train, nt 8.10 a.m. This Day (Thursday), May 20. For Southland, Australian Colonies, India, China, Japan, Continent of Europe, United Kingdom, &0., per '2a Anau, at 3 p.m. Money orders (for Australian Colonies ,only), registered letters, and newspapers at 2 p.m. Late letters, guard's van. Port Chalmers train, at 3.43 p.m. Letters for the United Kingdom must be specially addressed, and paid Is per Joz. Saturday, May 22. SAN FEANOISCO MAIL SERVICE. For Northern ports of New Zealand, the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, Continent of Europe, bamoa, Sandwich Islands, United States of America, Canada, &c, at 5 a.m. Hegistered correspondence nt 5 p.m. on Friday, Book packets and newspapers nt 9 p.m. on rnday, 21st. Money orders at 4 p.m. on Friday, 21st. The steamer Waipara will leave Hokitika on to-day (Thursday), 20th inst., for Jackson's Bay and intermediate ports, calling at Big Bay and George river (weather permitting).

Mails for Australian Colonies, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, per Te Anau, close at the Bluff at noon on Friday, 21et inst. Due in London July 5,

The 24th inst. (Queen's Birthday) being a post office holiday, all mails usually despatched on that day will be closed at 8 p.m. on' Saturday, 22nd. inut.
