Rabbitskins.—The number coming forwaro still continaes limited. A good demand exists for all lots offered, but without any signs of im> provement in values. We offered on Monday f few lots of suckers and inferior mixed at 2Jc per lb. ~ .----■- ■-■;--.- Hides.—The market is weaker, heavy shipments from the North Island (sent here doubtless because ;of a fall in' the Australian markets) having had the effect of lowering values here. The supply at present exceeds the demand, and stocks are in consequence accumulating. Values range from 2|d .to 4Jd per lb, according to weight and condition. Tallow.—There continues a fair demand_ for local consumption at equal to late quotations. The values are—prime, 17s to 18s; medium, 14s to 16s; inferior, 10s to 13s; rough fat—inferior, 5s to 7s; medium, 8s to 10s; prime mutton, 11s to 12s per cwt. V Grain—Wheat during the past week has continued in good demand, and prices are showing a hardening tendency. Several large transactions have taken place, and as much as 4s,has been paid for prime Tuscan and Pearl Velvet wheats in big parcels. Every description is readily saleable, and for choice parcels of Tuscan 3s lid to 4s is obtainable; velvet, 3s, lOd to 4s; and red straw, 3s 7d to 3s 9d. Oats: The demand has been brisk and large lines have been placed for shipment. The quotations arePrime milling, 2s to 2s Id; heavy bright feed, Is lid to 2s; medium, Is lOd; inferior and light, Is 7d to Is 9d. Barley: The quotations are—2s 9d to 3s for malting; medium, 2s 6d to 2s 8d; inferior, 2s to 2s 4d; but the demand is limited and sales are difficult to effect. Grass Seed.—Quotations are nominal.
