: Sin, —Haying occasion to use a small quantity: of jpaint, I sent tojwuat I considered a respect-i able house for a pound. A tin was supplied, for which 9d was charged. The bulk appearing very1 small, I was induced to test the weight, and found that tin and all weighed less than a pound. This unsatisfactory method of conducting business is probably the result of our much lauded competition, but it can scarcely be called honest trading; and I think'it is time the Legislature took steps to stop all such swindling practices,^ aud trust you will lend your valuable assistance by granting space for this,'as well as by such other means as you may see fit.—l am, &c. :
