Friday, April 16.

and J. Hazlett, J.P's.)

Drunkenness.—Four persons were brought before the Court for this offence—three of whom were convicted and discharged, the other one being punished.

Bye-law Cases.—For driving their vehicles through the streets after dark without having proper side-lights attached thereto, H. Bennett and Robert Austin were each fined Is and costs. For a similar offence Alexander Rennie was fined 2s and costs. A lad, 13 years of age, charged with letting off fireworks in the streets, was cautioned and discharged. Henry Guy, who was charged with riding a horse across a footpath in North Dunedin, was fined 2s and costs.

Odscene Language.—Joseph Wileox, who was charged with making use of obscene language towards Richard Poole, was bound over in the sum of £10 to keep the peace for three months. — A charge preferred against Annie Dickson af using obscene language was adjourned until Moudav next.
