THE SOAP WORKS CASE.

TO THE EDITOH. Sin, —In your issue of this date, Mr Wm. M'Leod, in his evidence, says that my signature was on the petition against him, but it was put as " Donald M'Leod." I beg to state that I neither signed the petition, nor was I ever asked to do so. In. fact, I never saw the petition, nor do I know from where it imanated. For him to make such a statement about me is altogether unwarranted and void of truth.—l am, &c, Jonx M'Leod. September 11.
