OTAGO SCHOOL COMMISSIONERS.
The adjourned meeting of the Commissioners was held yesterday afternoon. Messrs J. P, Maitland (chairman), A. C. Begg, and W. H. Pearson were present.
The tender of A. M'Doualel to lease section 6, block I, Mokoreta, for five years, at £20 per annum was accepted.
The Chairman reported that the tender of T. S. Miller had been accepted for the survey of section 1 and 2, block X, Wyiidham.
A letter was read from the chairman of the Wendonside Progress Committee, forwarding a petition signed by 37 settlers in Wendon and Wenelbnsiele elistricts asking that the committee should be recognised as the local representative of public opinion.—Received.
A letter was received from the Wendonside Progress Committee, forwarding resolutions recommending that sections 80 anel 81, block I Wendon (mining reserves) should be offeree! separately for pastoral lease.—A reply was ordered, stating that the sections would be offered separately for a term of seven years. Accounts amounting £149 10s were passed for payment.
