LAND BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Land Board was held yesterday, There were present: Messrs Maitland (chief commissioner), Green, Duncan, and Clark, TUAPEKA. The Tuapeka County Council forwarded plane of road-lines on which they proposed to expend £611 7a 7d accruing from deferred payment sales. —The plans were approved of by the board. TOPER TAIEBI, Mr Connell applied, on behalf of Thomas Herlipy, for 120 acre 3in block I, Upper Taieri, being portion of run 204. —Application to bo advertised. TEVIOT, A memorandum was received from the chief surveyor with reference to the survey of the road-line through section 28, block I, Teviot, find ho suggested that the matter of roads should be left to the Survey Department in future. Mr Smith to pay survey fees. GOLD MINING LEASES. The following certificates of application for gold-mining leases were approved:—Chas. and W. Masters, section 1, block XIII, Nevis; Vincent Fyke and James Earrold (for whom Mr Simpson appeared), section 5, block 11, Wakefiold. " ■ The following certificates were cancelled:— Arthur Ford and Wm, Shore, section 12, Earnslaw; Peter Lawson and otherß, section 2, block VII, Tablo Hill (a surrendered lease). AGRICULTURAL LEASES, Certificates for the renewal of agricultural leaeoo under eection 49 of the Mines Act were approved :—Wm. Bell, sections 43, 44, 49, and 50, block I, Tarraß; T. J. Kearce, section 47, block I, Lower Wanaka. An application to exchange for deferredpayment license eection 6, block I, Budlo, by D. M'Crao (for whom Mr Oonnell appeared) was agreed to. Thomas Hughes' application to purchase eeotionß 22, 23, and 25, block 11, Blackstone, was approved. OTABA. A memo, was reoeived from the Chief Surveyor with reference to the application of P. M'Quire (through Mr Connell) for a refund of part of survey fees paid by him on sections 1, 2, and 3, block VII, Otara, intimating that the charge was made in accordance with the regulations, and that he could not agree to a refund,—Government recommended to allow a return fee for mileage if the surveyor made fewer than three trips. DBFEBBED PAYMENT APPLICATIONS. The following applications to purchase under deferred-payment exchange lease were approved :—J. B, Chalmers, sections 29 and 30, block 11, Table Hill,

Applications to purchase under deferredpayment lease were also approved as follow:— Robert Oroseen, sections. 2 and 3, block IV, Teviot; William Stewart, section 23, block 11, Slopedown.

Applications to purchase on the deferredpayment system were approved as follow:— Donald M'Lean, Bection 7, block V, Otara; A. 0. M'Kenzie, section 19, block IV, Ofcara; Donald M'Millan, section 15, Otara; Simon Pascoe, ■ section 4, block IV, Otarn; George Robin, section 11, block XLV, East Gore. MOUNT HIDE, A transfer of rural deferred-payment section 15, block XII, Mount Hyde, was granted from J. IrviDgs (deceased) to G. H, Campbell, EE\T IN ABBEAB. Mr Haley appeared to suow cause why his license for a, section at Maniototo Bbould not be forfeited, and offered to pay a half-year's rent in a month, —Agreed to, Mrß Stewart (for John Stewart, her husband) applied to show causa why his license for a section at Dunback should not be forfeited for non-payment of rent. She stated that he' [ was in the hospital suffering from blindness, and as their corn had.not yet been threshed, she was not in a position to mako any definite proposal.—Consideration deferred fur a month. BLAOKSTONE, _ W. M, Wade_ requested the beard to reconsider their decision to withdraw sections 9 and 10, block V, from sale for village and other purposes, as persons in the district are willing to buy same. —Letter read. Mr Simpson, for a settler, applied to have section 48, block 11, opened for agricultural leasing.—Government to be requested to open , the section in question for sale en deferredpayments. PEBPJTUAL LEASE LAND. The tender of Adam Gruickshank was accepted for the perpetual lease of section 20, block IX, Wendon (318* lr 30p), at the upiset price of 23 per acre. MiNIOTOTO, G. H. Gordon asked that the capital value of sections 11 and 12, block XIV, should be fixed at £1 per acre.—To be considered on receiving reply from Government. Ron No. 470. The Chief Commissioner asked the board to consider the advisability of reducing the rental of run 470 from £25 to £5 per annum.—Run to be offered for lease at reduced rental of £5 per annum, HILLEND, Messrs Sinclair and Raid forwarded a letter in reply to communication from the board with reference to dealing with section 15, block X, stating that they do not object to the land being leased so long as the right is reserved to mine over it.—Resolved—" That under the circumstances not to deal with the land at present." TABLE HILL. H. B. Flett applied for the grazing right over section 34, block V, and sections 4 and 5, block VIII. The Bruce County Council intimated that a grazing license had been issued by them over some of this area to G. Anderson, —Board declined to grant grazing right, the county council having been delegated power to make regulations.
