MEETINGS OF CREDITORS.
P. J. M'NAMARA.
A meeting of creditors in the estate of P. J. M'Namara, bootmaker, of Port Chalmera, waa he'd yesterday in the Official Assignee's office. Itappeared tbat tbe liabilities amounted to £8114s lld, and the aa3eta to £8, consisting cf £30 book debta, estimated to yield £i, and stock-in-t'ade valued at £3.
Bankrupt stated that he began busineis in Port Chalmers 12 montha ago without any capital. His insolvency was owing to depression ln trade.
Mr Woods, one of the crctiitora, stated that Ihe stock-in-trado put down aSias:ctj belonged to him, as thoy were placed in bankiupt'a possession to be sold on commission, and tte only reason why M'Namara waa insolvent waa that *■ he had tranagresaed himaelf in a very improper manner."
Tho meeting waa adjourned to enable the Assignee to make inquiries.

A meeting of creditors in tha estite ot Henry Charles Kerr, broum manufacturer, waa held yeaterday afternoon in the ollice of the Assignee The debtor's liabilitiaa amuunt to £187 18a, and his assets (including tools, Ac ) to £23 15s. Mr Wilkinson appeired'on fcehalt of the debtor.
'Ihe Debior stated that about nine montha ago ho went into partnership with Louis Bintz aa broom manufacturer. He put into the business £85, which he got from his father, and hu owed his father altogether about £1.0. The business did not flourish. Six weeka after they started his partntr took £20 or £30 out p( the firm to pay hia own private debts, and debtor had to g uaraitee payment of his butcher's ana coal bills, and he had btea let in for the lot. Dobtor drew £57 out ol the concern altogether, and according to Hintz'a own showing that wsb £50 les-i than the latter had drawn. Bankrupts father held a bill of sale over the machinery and stock, and bankrupt held a power of attorney to onforoe the bill cf sale, which he did. Mr Glendining got ju-lgment for a tmall amount against him, and he gave Mr Glendining the key of the preovsea for one dny, not for tho purpose of taking possession of the toola, &c, but for the purpose of Bhowing that bankrupt did not want to interfere witli the property, and waa sincere in endiavourlng to find money to pay the claim. He did not succeed in getting tic inont-y, so lis fie', and Mr Glendining now retained possession of the key and the gooda, siying that bo did so partly becauso he had a claim against bankrupt's father.
At the bejintiiti? of tbo meeting Mr Glesdinixo was preßcnt, and examined Iho debtor with respect to Ihe bill of sale, with iho view of showing that the biil of sah had been usig'ied to debtor's father. Mr Glendining used come very strong 'aogua?o with retard to the conduct of tho d btor ahd hi 3 solicitor, and went aw.yv declaring lhat ho did not intord to provo on the estate.
