THE ANGLICAN SYNOD.

The third session of the sixth Synod of the Diocese of Dunedin opened on Wednesday. At Ht. Paul's pro-Cathedral there waß celebration of the holy communion at 8 o'clock in the morning. His Ljrdship the Bishop of the diocese conducted the aervice, and delivered a short address on " The Church, and her Relations to the World." Another sorviea was held at 11 o'clock.

In the evening there was a full choral service, during which the Bishop delivered his address. The service sung was Bunnett's mission service in F. It was given with particularly good effect in consequence of the strength of the choir, which included repreBontatives from all the city and suburban churches. The anthem, " O give thanks" (Elvey), and the processional hymn, " Onward, Christian soldiers," were also given with fine effect, Mr J. O. Norman presided at the organ, Hia Lordship delivered the usual opening address.

The Synod at the conclusion of the servic9 adjourned to St. Paul's schoolroom, where some ordinary business was transacted. The Ray. Mr Ronaldson was appointed clerical secretary, and Mr E. E. O. Quick lay secretary. It was arranged that the Synod meet at 4 p.m. daily (Saturdays excepted), adjourning at 6, and then resuming at 7.30.
