—Eiiiiign Reynolds, of the Greely relief pa'ty, is called to mind as the hero of the rnacuo of the men of tho Austrian barque Olivo in mid-ncean in November 1879. Ho was thon attached to the sloop-of-war Constellation. He stood in tbo lifeboat all day in a blinding storm, rescued 12 men, and swam from his boat to the Olivo aftor dark, and set her on fire. His bravery was acknowledged in a gold medal voted him by the Austrian Government.
