T teenth of the whole estimated cost, which ■•■' accords with the report received from Panama yesterday, that of 150,000,000 cubic metres to bo cut not 5,000,000 have been taken out, and 20,000,000 are under contract. Tho Panama Star says 14,000,000d0l in gold has been spent in tickling the surface.
