GEORGE STREET SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The monthly mooting of the George street School Committee, was held last evening! when there were present; Messrs Mitchell, Simpson, Comrie, Green, Street, and Jago. The head master reported that the number of children oa the roll this week was 843, and the average attendance C 23, The percentage of \ passes in subjects " at the recent examination was 904, and the percentage of " passes in standards," 91. Measles and colda were still prevalent -in the district. A memo, was received from Mr M'Nicoll (head ma3ter) re finishing asphalting of playground. The Chairman reported that the Education Board had promised to finish the work if the Committee would pay one-half (£6). Mr Simpson moved ' lhat the Tioard's-offer be accepted." Mr Mitchell seconded the motion, which was carried. Accounts amounting to £9 9s 3d were passed for payment.
