Macetown, December 20. The return obtained from the Gladstone crushing— namely, 3600z - was gcod, there being only 400 ton 3of etone put through the battery. The wet weather hindered the Company from crushing so much as they intended, but whatever was left in the paddock will be'so much towards another crushing, which will lake place so soon as there is a respectable quantity ot utonc in the paddock. .'"',. Tho Homeward-Bound crushing—viz., 98oz of gold from 178 tons of stone—was good under the circumstances, and will, I trust, be lollowed by better by-And-bye. The Garibaldi stone is being carted from the paddock to the Tipperary machine by Mr R. Hood, and it will not be long ere this claim again reports itpelf to the public. Good reports come from the Keep-it-Dark, handfiome proßpects being obtained from the drillings. Macetown is pretty nearly deserted by men availing themselves of the-cheap fares to Invercargill, Dunedin, and elsewhere.
