THE MACANDREW MEMORIAL.
TO. TfiE BDITOB,
Sir, —Mr John Drysdale, writing "on behalf of several actual subscribers," asks in your issue of today, " What has become of the proposed memorial portrait of Mr Macandrew ?" \
In reply, I have to Bay that Port Chalmers stops the way. Although lists were sent some time ago to several prominent citizens there, and on the 9th October last a pressing circular was sent urging the return of the lists, as the Committee wished to have themattercompleted, up to this time, however, neither lists nor money have come in from' Port Chalmers. Perhaps John Drysdale will stir up bis Port friends. -
Other districts have responded well to the application of the Committee, and it would be a pity if Port Chalmers should be left out.—l
am, &0., Jas. Barb, Hon. Sec. Dunedin, November 19.
