—One of tlie most important features of tho Scottish Education Bill before Parliament is a compulsory clause applicable to children between the age of ten and fourteen. —The venerable arch-priest S. J. A. Sheehy, of Sydney, was born in the city of Cork, Ireland, in 1827, and he is now 57 years of age. In 183S he arrived with his parents iv New South Wales, and his coming there when a mere child has been the cause of his being regarded as an Australian native. He was educated at St. Mary's seminary, Sydney, and in 1845 entered the Benedictine Community founded by Archbishop Polding..
