GUTHRIE AND LARNACH'S N.Z. TIMBER AND WOODWARE FACTORIES COMPANY.

There were only two shareholders and the liquidators present at the adjourned meoting yesterday of Guthrie and Larnach's N.Z. Timber and Woodware Factories Company (in liquidation).

Mr Labkaoh, who took tbo chair, said he was sorry there was not a larger-attendance of •hareholdcrs, because the liquidators were prepared to satisfy them that they had done their duty. He wiahed to put it more clearly than was done at last meeting, that in the tenders called for by the liquidators for the assets, tho Bank—with the exception of one instance— waa tjie only tenderer, so that the shareholders would see that they had no option. That fact in itself would explain that the liquidators made the best of the assets. He questioned whether they wore in order in adjourning last meeting, but they did so really to meet the views of shareholders, and show them that there was no intention to burjc anything, or shirk any inquiry that it was desired to make. If they had not adjourned at last meeting, it would have been his duty to point out that it waa necessary for shareholders to appoint an inspector before the next meeting took place. The Act provided for an inspector being appointed with the object of inspecting the accounts and figures of the liquidators after the liquidation was closed, which next meeting was supposed to do. It wos clear to him now, from the small attendance of shareholders, that after consideration they were satisfied with what the liquidators had done, and he did not think that there was any necessity for detaining the meeting longer. If any shareholders desired information on any subject the liquidatora would be happy to give it. Mr Henut Guthbib moved that the liquidators should appoint an inspector. He was quite satisfied that the liquidators had done their best in this matter, and was surprised that those shareholders who got the meeting adjourned Bhould not be present today. The motion wa3 agreed to, and the meeting then closed.
