It ii with pleasure I find our member has contributed £100, and I now contribute £200; and I olso agreo to contribute another £100 if Mr M'Donald will da tho same within one week. Th 9 money Is for a good purpose, and Mr M'Donald can easily afford to contribute another £100. Tho money thus contributed must bo held over until tho Government bave given their subsidy, and then dovotcd to a permanent endowment fund, and any investment uiußt be in such a manner as to contribute to the future benefit of the hospital, and not voted for purposes of pieaent or temporary expenditure The amount, if Mr M'Donald rays his second £100 will ht a cons'derable sum, and should be invested ' It is not an amount to be paid for preEont expenditure, inasmuch aa the general public, with their usual generosity, should fi_d funds f.r that purpose.—yours faithfully, P.
