NORTH DUNEDIN HALL.
A concert and ball were given last night in the North Dunedin DriU-hall in aid i<f Mrs Kbgers and family, who'were passengers on board the Wild Deer, recently wrecked on her passage to New Zealand. The Mayor (Mr J. B. Thomson) presided. A very attractive programme was presented, and Beveral of ihe leading amateur vocalists in Dunedin kindly lent their services for the occasion. Mrs Long, Miss Lack, Miss Jago, and Messrs Newbury, Jago, Dunglinson, and Hale contributed solos, which met with the most unstinted applause. In the latter portion of the programme, indeed, encores were the rule rather than the exceptiun. A pianoforte duet ("Masanicllo") was given by Miss Lack, and Mr Dunglinson aud Miss Jfi..Lack contributed <i violin solo from "Les Cloches de Cornevjlle. A fair number of the audience stayed for the (ianco which followed.
