Trespassing on the Railway. was charged with on the Mth'ult. trespassing on the railway-line between; the Pelichet Bay and Dunedin stations.—Alexander Gairand John Connor gave evidence as, tothe trespass ; and the inspector.deposed as to the situation of the line, which passed pyer-ft piece of land which had formerly, been khowh; as Beach street, but had never been formed,—The defendant explained that he leased land in the vicinity from the Corporation, .and regarded Beach street as the proper access to his premises'. He had no idea that he was trespass-ing-—Under these circumstances,! the -Bench imposed a nominal fine of Is, without costs.
