CORRECTION.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —In the account you give o£ the fire at my shop, you state that Constable Bird was the first to discover it. This is not correct. When I came from my bedroom I found the place full of smoke. I opened the door to call for assistance, and, seeing the constable at the end of the Arcade, I went to him and said, " My place is full of smoke "—thus showing it was myself who gave the alarm. Hoping you will find space to insert this, —I am, &c, Thomas M'Gill. 22 Royal Arcade, July 31at.
