B. Howes The following have been acquired by purchase or exchange:— Collection of marine invertebrata (in alcohol), from the zoological station, Naples; collection of skeletons, from E. Gerrard, jun., London; collection of wax models, from Dr Ziegler, Freiburg; casts, skeletons and spirit specimens, from Professor Ward, Rochester U.S.A. ; skeleton of Moriori, from Mr 11. T. Travers Wellington; skeleton of dugong, from Mr C. Smith' Nelson; two skeletons of blackflsh, from Mr Traill Stewarts Island. '

The following specimens, also added to the collection, were prepared on the premises :—

Skeletons of orang-outang, crocodile, i«uana, eeratodus, trout, barracouta, rabbit, skulls of trout and python.

The curator (Professor Parker) is anxious to meet with a fisherman who can procure him a large series of eggs of the elephant - fish (Callorkynchus antarcticus), and specimens of the thresher or fox-shark (Alopecias vulpesj, and of the hag (Bddlostoma cirrkatumj.
