THE AUSTRIAN BAND.

The Austrian Band last evening made their first appearance upon the boards of the Queen's Theatre/ and notwithstanding the fact that some misuwf-grstanding had arisen with respect to leasing the building, a very fair house assembled. As" might reasonably have been expected, the attendance was chiefly confined to the dress-circle, and every sign of appreciation was manifested from time to time. The programme contained a variety of selections choice but popular, and it was carried out in the same excellent style that has marked the previous performances of the band. In the first part a trio by Herren Braun and Prager and Signor Sorge (piano) was excoedmgly well rendered, and evoked an encore—a compliment also paid to the quadrille Rational," and the much-appreciated Secret Love" (Resch). "Orpheus," in the second part, was perhaps the most enthusias-tically-applauded feature in the programme although none of the selections fell in any way flat. A string quartette, "Evening Prayer" was given with exquisite time and expression and was repeated; whilst the " potpourri" and other pieces were received with unmistakable signs of approval. . To-night another concert will be given in the Queens Theatre, and a glance at the programme will show that no falling-off is to be anticipated as regards the attractiveness of the entertainment. '
