The s.s. Shag arrived at Port Chalmers on Monday night from Shag Point. The barquontine Mary Campbell wag towed to sea yesterday morningl, and sailed in ballast for Greymouth.

The B,a. Go-Ahead sailed yesterday morning for Oamaru.

The 5.9. Tlawea sailed yesterday afternoon for Northern ports. The ship Phasis put out the la9t of her inward cargo yesterday. The s B. Maori sailed yesterday evening for Oamaru. The brigantine Eliz.v Firth returned to Povt Chalmers yesterday afternoon, having received orders to load there, instead of proceeding in ballast to Greymouth.'

The brigantine Seagull arrived at Port Chalmers yesterday afternoon. She left Westport on the 31st ult. with a N.W. wind, which carried her off Okarito on the lot inst., when it suddenly shifted to S. W., increasing to a heavy gale ; she passed Cape Farewell at noon, a7id breasted Stephens Island on the evening of the Bam? day ; kept the S.W. wind until the 3rd inst., when it backed to the northward, taking- her clear cf Cook's Straits at noon ;. thence she had light easterly winds, passing Banks Peninsula on the evening of the 6th inst, and carrying easterly winds along the coast to arrival.

The s.s; Plucky, having undergone a thorough overhaul in Mason's Floating Dock, was taken out yesterday, and steamed down to Port Chalmers. ' The brig Star of tho Mersey was toyjecj to sea yesterday afternoon by the p.s. Koputai, anc? sailed in ballast for the Bluff.

The ship Loch Eek has only about 300 tons of cargo left on board. She has taken in 60 tons of ballast. The ship Oamaru has put out fully one-half of her cargo, which is turning, puffin splendid order. The s.s. Kakanui s^i.fijdjyesterday evening for Invercargill. The whaling barque Splendid; was towed to sea yesterday by the p.s. Koputai, and left on a whaling cruise in the South Pacific Ocean. We wish Captain Earle every success.
