AGRICULTURAL IMPLEMENTS.
Messrs Keid and Gray, manufacturers of agricultural ; implements, are at the present time preparing articles for the Timarti, Ashburton, Christchurch, Oamaru, Duncdin, and lnvercargill agricultural and pastoral ( shows, which are to be held shortly. Those intended for exhibition at Timaru have just been manufactured, and comprise in all 25 different machines. They include double-furrow ploughs, , with and without handles, the three - furrow , plough, the turn-wrist or hill-Bide plough, several different kinds of harrows, the im- . proved grain and seed drill, drays of every description, chaflcutters, &c. Tho firm aro now also ] executing to tho order of an Otago farmer an , American jointed di^c pulverising harrow. This , machine is a great improvement on the ordinary harrow for certain classes of work, and particu- , larly is it useful when the ground to be harrowed has been sown with cereal seeds. . A great advantage in connection with it is its easy , draught, and it is very highly spoken of by two or three farmers who have it in present use. The iutro- , duction of this particular kind of harrow hero from , America is of comparatively recent date, and several c farmers who may be at present ignorant of it.i existenco might do well to make inquiries concerning it. c It has two wings of 12 saucer-shaped disc 3 (which aro , lOin in diameter), and it w lift wide. It can be drawn t by four horses, anil the discs go into the ground to a ~ depth of six inches. Levers fur scraping the disci are , ittuched, for use when the ground traversed is j, moist; and the angular cut of tbo wings is regulated v by a slide and a lever. fo
