CRICKET.

DUNEDIN C.C. V. ALBION O.Q. The threatening weather on Saturday caused the majority of cricketers to expect a wet day but the afternoon turned out fine, causing a good number of spectators to visit the different grounds. On the Oval the above match waa resumed and concluded, resulting in a decider! victory for the former by 10 wickets—a very creditablo performance, and one that gives promise of some exciting cricket when the Dunedm meet foemen more worthy of their steel later in the season. Dawes and G B Clarke, on behalf of the Albions, showed good batting, and had they a bettor, ground to practise on would, no doubt, be very successful with the willow On tho part of the winners, J. .Leith and Pattersall soon ran up the required number of runs necessary to win the. match, then- hitting being clean and well timed; tho former especially showed good play xnd is a much-improved batsman from last season's form. The fielding on both sides was: very good, and tho bowling of 0. Firth ani uarr excellent, tho former being quite unplayiblo by the Albion men, the amount of spin he .nfuset! into his bowling rendering it very leceptive. As the game was concluded at an early lour another was commenced, the DtraJ summon again going, to the wickets, and renaming in possession until time was called. We wero pleased to observe tho largo number )f members present, and the ground, although larly in the season, looking so well, and trust mr citizens will support the Club in its efforts ;o keep the game alive in our midst.
