Mr John A. Barr, solicitor, -will during the coming election bo n candidate to represent Mr J Upton Davis will address tho electors of Dunedin City East at tho Albany street Hill to-morrow evening, at 8 o'clock. Captain Scott will meet tho electors of the Rnslvu district at the Maori Hill Schoolhouse ' to-morrow evening, at 8 o'clock. Captain Sett's committee meet this evening m the Borough Chambers, Koslyn, at; 8 o clock. The present member for the Wallace district Mr H. Hirst, liaa announced his intention of seeking re-election. (Per United Pbess Association.) • In responso to an influential invitation, Mr J T Thomson, late surveyor-general, will contest tho seat for tho Mataura. O^r 200 names were during the course p T-iiday and Saturday added to the luvercargill '°>Lr Richard Hobbs addressed a meeting of eketoiß ulKawakawa, Bay of Mwdi, and wni wftll received.
Mr Wilkinson, mayor of Gtrahamstown, has : been asked to contest tho Thames seat, but ] has declined. Mr John Shepherd has announced himself j for Rodney, against Mr Seymour (i eorge. I Mr C. J". Johns-ton has consented to content ' Te Aro. Mr Paul Colfoy declines to stand for ' South Wellington. Mr'M. L. Marks contests : tho Hutt seat. Mr Rockshorn has withdrawn for Foxton, in favour of Mr \V. ii. Russell. Mr G. V. Stewart addressed the electors of ' Opotiki on Friday evening, and was well re- ' ceived. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded : to tho candidate. '
