London, September 27th. Consols have advanced $■, and are quoted to-day at 99£. New Zealand securities are firm at the following quotations :—Five per cent. 10 40 loan, 102£ ; 5 per cent. 1889 loan, 102£; 4| per cent. 1879-1904 loan, 99J. * The tone of the wheat market is firm, with an upward tendency. Adelaide wheat, ex store, remains at 583 ; New Zealand wheat, ex store, sGs—an advance of Is.
Adelaide flour, ex store, 42s—an advance of 6d.
Australian tallow : best beef is unchanged at 42a ; best mutton has advanced 6d, to 453. The market is strong. At the wool sales to-day 8200 bales were catalogued. A firm demand was experienced.
Five of the prisoners who were arrested under the provisions of the Irish Coercion Act were to-day released. Among the number was the Rev. Father Sheehy, who was arrested in May last.
