Sir,—Having heard that cortain rumours are current that the widow of the unfortunate Mr J. F. Jones has been harshly treated by his landlord, I beg, as the person lately in possossiOß under a distress warrant
for rent, to be allowed to state most positively that Mrs Jones was permitted freely to remove all the personal effects, books, bedding, &c, taken into the house by her lato husband, and that there is consequently no ground whatever for the imputations on the landlord's conduct.—l am, &c, _ .. _ Richard Brkw, Bailiff.
