"Wellington, April 24th. I hear on good authority that Mr Hislop is positively about to redgn his seat for Waitaki, being pr a vented by private business from attending the House during the aeeßion. lam also informed that Mr John Reid, of Elderslie will come forward as a candidate for the vacancy.
