MASONIC.
TO THE EDITOB. Sib, —Through the courtesy of a friend a copy ofthe Otago Times ha* been sent to me containing the letter of Mr Robert Patercon, of the 20th March. That gentleman professes ignorance of my identity. He is well aware that there was only one of my name connected with his Supreme Council, and that I resigned my connection with it whenever I discovered that it was spurious. , . - His allegation that I was dismissed by that body is false, and is an aspersion on my char aoter, for which I have privately called on him to retract and apologias. ; His assumption that you inserted my former, letter, warning the Freemasons of New Zealand against associating themselves with Mr Patersou's spurious body, at the request of any third person, is equally unfounded aB bis reckless assertion that I was dismissed its membership. I wrote you direct on the subject, and I only discharged a Masonic duty in doing so.— lam, &c, ■ ?' Dr. John Thomas Loth, 33°.\ Of the Supreme Council of the Grand Orient of Francs, &c. Edinburgh, 22nd May, 1879.
