POLITICAL INTELLIGENCE,
[Bt Telegraph.]
(fbom otjb own correspondents.) , "Wellington, July sth. Politically there is nothing new to-day. The Times this morning had a vicious article against Mr Gisborne, and another sgainßt Mr Bunny. It ii evident the Opposition regard both as deserters. Mr Bolleston has written to political friends declining to bo put in nomination for the Speakership against Mr O'Eorke, and the latter's election will probably be unopposed ; but Mr Seymour will be put up against Mr Bunny for the Chairmanship of Committees, and a very close run fa anticipated. The election of an Otago member to fill Mr Stout's seat in the Cabinet has been practically left in the hands of Mr Macandrew, but nothing decisive is iikely to be done for a few days, Mr De.'Latour would have stood au excellent chance of the seat hat! he been resident in Otago, but living in the North is felt to be an insuperable obstacle, although he represents an Otago constituency. '
Gbahamstown, July sth. •A memorial was presented to Mr Eowe, M.H.K, to meet his constituents before leaving, but he pleaded a bad cold. He will .not be in bisplaca at the opening of the session, but will attend soon after.
