Letters patent have been refused to the University till its degrees are assimilated to those of Sydney, Melbourne, and New Zealaud Universifchs.
The Chief Secretary stated ta a deputation that the depreciation of South Auatralian boLd-i was caused by the supposition that tho democratic principles of Victoria also obtained in South Australia.
