SOUTH DUNEDIN BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Tho ordinary meeting of the South Dunedin Borough Council was held last evening, when thore wero pra:-ont: — Tlio Mayor (str G. Hodgos), Ch Osmond, Ilargreaves, Hardy, M'Brido, Price, (■utcliffe, and Forrester. CORRESPONDKSCE. Messrs Siovwrislit :md htout, on behalf of the proprietor, forwarded plan of subdivis'on section 24, block VII. Town District.. South Dunedin, vrith street having a width of one chain, for tho approval of the Council.—The Council approved cf tho plan submittel. but declined to xnke tiio street over until formed to its satisfaction. A petition wns received from 14 ratepavors, craving that a foot-bridge should bo put over the dtch at the junction of tho Cnrcill and Surrey roads. -The Inspector was Inotructcd ti give effect to tho requisition. THE CARQILL ROAD. C'r Osmond asked the Mayor whether lie had received any communication from tho Cavrslum Borough Council with reference to repairing the Cargill road ? The Mayor said ho had not, but, in speaking to a member it the Council bo had bes i given to underBtnii'l that there would bo some communication received that evening. The clerk w»3 instructed to intimate to the Works Committee of the Caversham Council that the Council would meot thrin if they were ajreeablo on Thursday evening with referenco to tho matter. VALUATION. Tho Clshk intimated that the va'uatirn on thn rateable property in tho borough for the year was £13,932, against £1250 Ust yesr.
