OUTRAM LIBRARY.
The annual meeting of subscribers to the Outram Library was held in the Library Hall, Outram, on the 13th instant. Mr Chisholm having been elected chairman _»>*o tern., called upon the secretary to read the, annual report and balance-sheet, which was done. Both were adopted by the subscribers as read. The library'continues to prove a success. There were 320. volumes ordered through the Education Board, and they.are expected to..arrive about the end -,pi the current. month. When these books come to haul the library will contain 1000 volumes. The Committee alao de cided to order the Graphic, .London Society (magazine), and the Nineteenth Century Review. The Illustrated London News has been presented to the library by Mr James Fulton. The Committee have now under consideration the desirability of establishing a reading-room in connection with the library. A vote ot thanks waspassad for the handsome donation of L 5 53 6d which was given by Mr James Fulton to the library funds. Owing to the library heing now opened bi-weekly, it was decided that the Committee be supplemented by two members. The following gentlemen were chosen by the subscribers to act on the Committee a3 librarisins for the . presont year, 1870:—Mr James Fulton, chairman; Mr W. C. M'Douall, vice-chairman; Mr J. C. Hodges, hon. treasurer; Mr S. O.'Aleara, hon. secretary; Messrs G. W. Williams, Alexander Chisholm, J. D. Grant, and J. A. Mackenzie.
