The Cmtsrbury Kloven played at Ballarat on the 27th and 28th of Dec. against the Ballarat Club, and won the match by eight wickots. The local team made 42 and ISS, the visitors 131 and 47 with two wic'sets down. H'Donnell played in fine form for hie 31, and M'Kiunon also hit well for 26; but when Torment, who went in fifth, wan joined by Kendall, the last man, the two batamen completely collared the bowling, which they hit to all parts of the field. At tho close of the day's play, both men carried out their bats—Tenneut for 75, and Kendall for 54. Tho Canterbury bowing during the latter part of the innings wsb not up to the mark.
