THE NORTH DUNEDIN SCHOOL.

This school was also among the number that made known the results of their annual examinations on Friday. The schoolroom was decorated with evergroens in honour of tho occasion, and the attendance of visitors was large. The prize list is published below. In the sowing-room several spaoimens of the needlework and knitting of the scholars were exhibited, and excited a great deal of admiration. Tho Misses Mary Dou&las and Ann Jane Steadman distinguished themselves in sewing shirts, and the Misses Ann Rogers, Grace Thomson, Ellen Russell, and Florence Talbot, also exhibited some nice specimens of work of the same description. Tho night dresses and other articles displayed by the Misses Emily and Annie M'Quaid, Edith Jago, Maggie Dutch, Graca M'Naught, Maggie M'Donald, and Grace M'Nair, are worthy of special mention, and tho Misses Jessie and Maggie Duffie and Jane Waugh showed that they were good hands at knitting stockings. During the day Mr A. Stewart, on behalf of the scholars, presented to Mr W. Murray a handsome improved stereoscopic apparatus in commemoration of that gentleman severing his connectioa with the school for tho purpose of fulfilling an appointment at Napier. Mr Murray has been connected with the school since January 1873. In making the presentation Mr Stewart referred to tho esteem in wnich the master had been held by his scholars ever since he had joined it, and also to tho fact that Mr Murray had shown an active interest in the progress of the school cadets, he having been tho captain of the company. Mr Murray acknowledged the gift in appropriate and feeling terms.
