INVERCARGILL GRAMMAR SCHOOL.

The annual examination of and distribution of prizes to the pupils of the Invercargill Grammar School, took place yesterday. Mr John Turnbull, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, presided, and alluded in respectful terms to Sir John Richardson's death, as the deceased gentleman bad presided at the last annual examination. The examination proved the high position to which the school has advanced under the Head Mastership of Mr Angus M'Gregor. A large number of special prices were given, principally by Mr M'Donald, the Chairman of the Southland Education Board, and the Chamber of Commerce; Mr Watson, Manager of the Bank of New Zealand ; the Town Clerk, and other gentlemen.
