CAVERSHAM DISTRICT SCHOOL.

The annual examination and breaking up for the holidays took place on Friday, in the presence of a number of the parents of the children. The school was tastefully decorated with flowers aud ferns, and tho drawings, needlework, &c, done during the past year were laid open for inspection. The scholars having performed their various lessons for the day, Mr R. Ruthorford—tho Mayor of Caversham, and Chairman of the School Committee—presented the certificatsa aud prizes. The latter were bought with the money recently voted by the Borough Council, and a small sum raised by means of letting the school-room for meetings. The proceedings terminated by the scholars singing the New Zealand and National Anthems. The following is the prize list :—
