ST. KILDA COUNCIL.

The regular meeting of the St. Kilda Council was held last evening. Present— Tbe Mayor, Lir Caleb Moore (in the chair), Messrs Brady, Burnside, Farrell, Galbraith,' Halligan, and Mitchell.

The minutea. of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

Mr James StenhoHse was appointed Inspector of Works.

Accounts amounting to £47 were passed for payment. .

The Inspector was instructed to get the ditch between the railway and the niw culvert cleaned out; and tenders were ordered to be called for a bridge in Cutten street, and for covering the ditch near the Biy Vie vv Hotel. y.,

On the motion of Mr Halligast, seconded by Mr Bursside, it was resolved—''That by way of recognising the services of the late Mayor, Mr John Pugh Jones, an address be prepared and engrossed for presentation to him, the Clerk to prepare a draft of the same as soon as possible."

It was resolved-—"That a special meeting be called for Thursday evening, to consider and frame a code of bye-laws." - The Council rose at 10 p. m.
